Our story

We once started with a pub in Kortrijk – the Bugattis – a cosy place where we loved welcoming people and creating a warm atmosphere. We enjoyed meeting people from different backgrounds and making them feel at home. Hospitality was already an important part of our lives.our story:

our story: From Belgium to the South of France
In 1999, we decided to leave Belgium and settle in the south of France. We followed our dream and created Le Moulin de Planiol, a charming guest house near Gourdon in the Lot.
For many years, we welcomed guests from France and abroad. We enjoyed sharing our love for this beautiful region and helping our guests discover the villages, markets, landscapes and gastronomy of the Lot and nearby Dordogne.
This experience taught us how much we enjoy welcoming people into our home. Every guest brings a new story, and many wonderful friendships and memories have grown from these encounters.

A new adventure: Maison Tête de Bois
After many years at Le Moulin de Planiol, we started a new chapter with Maison Tête de Bois in Milhac, in the heart of the Lot.
The property is an old farm that we restored over a period of two years. The farm included an old tobacco drying barn and a former pigsty. We carried out much of the renovation ourselves, with the help of local craftsmen.
We wanted to preserve the character and history of the buildings while creating a comfortable and welcoming place for our guests. Whenever possible, we reused old and reclaimed materials, giving new life to elements that were already part of the property.
Today, Maison Tête de Bois offers three guest rooms, spaces for motorhomes and a welcoming table d’hôtes where guests can enjoy good food and relaxed moments together.
A place where people feel at home
For us, Maison Tête de Bois is more than simply a place to stay. It is a place to slow down, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and discover the beautiful region between Gourdon and Sarlat.
We love sharing our favourite places, local discoveries and the simple pleasures of everyday life in the Lot.
After many years of welcoming guests, our passion remains the same: making people feel welcome and helping them enjoy a memorable stay in the south of France.
