Welcome to Maison Tête de Bois, a charming bed and breakfast near Sarlat, located in the peaceful village of Milhac, in the Lot region of southwest France. Close to Gourdon and the Dordogne, our guesthouse is the perfect place to discover the beauty, history and authentic charm of the French countryside.
A Beautifully Restored Farmhouse
After two years of renovation, we have brought an old farmhouse back to life, preserving its character while creating a comfortable and welcoming place for our guests. The property includes the original farmhouse, a traditional tobacco drying barn and an old pigsty, all restored with care and respect for their history.
We are Kurt and Caroline, and we have always enjoyed welcoming people and sharing beautiful places with them. Our adventure in hospitality began with a café in Courtrai, Belgium, followed by our former bed and breakfast, Le Moulin de Planiol, near Gourdon. Today, Maison Tête de Bois is our new home and a place where we are delighted to welcome travellers from near and far.

ECOLOGICAL COMFORT, NATURAL COOLNESS AND A SOLAR-HEATED POOL
At Maison Tête de Bois, we aim to offer a comfortable stay while respecting the environment. For this reason, we have chosen not to install air conditioning. The thick stone walls and traditional French-style external shutters naturally help keep the rooms cool during hot days.
For a refreshing break, our guests can enjoy our small swimming pool heated by solar panels. Depending on the weather, the pool is open for approximately 7 to 8 months of the year.
ACCOMODATION
Whether you come with a campervan or prefer to sleep in a room – with us you will stay in the middle of nature, with the comfort of a small-scale, welcoming place.
TABLE d’Hôte
Guests staying with us – on the campervan pitches or in one of our rooms – can join us in the evening, if they wish, for a pleasant meal at our table d’hôte, where we serve a fresh three-course meal every evening.
